Real Madrid Confirm Denzel Dumfries Transfer From Inter Milan

Real Madrid have officially confirmed the signing of Dutch international Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan, bringing an end to a five-year spell in which the right-back established himself as one of Europe's most dangerous attacking full-backs.

The move was completed after Real Madrid triggered a release clause in Dumfries' contract, reported to be in the region of €20m (£17m). Dumfries originally joined Inter from PSV Eindhoven in 2021 and quickly became a key figure under multiple coaching regimes, prized for his combination of defensive discipline and attacking output down the right flank. His final campaign in Italy was disrupted by ankle surgery, though he still made 28 appearances and scored five goals.

The move also comes off the back of a strong 2026 World Cup campaign for the Netherlands, where Dumfries featured in four matches and contributed two assists, further underlining his continued influence at international level heading into his 30s.

At Real Madrid, Dumfries is expected to provide direct competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, giving the club two experienced, attack-minded options in that position as they continue to build a squad capable of competing on every front.
